“Owning these companies in my hometown gives me the pride to succeed and support my other fellow business owners. With the help of our talented team members and the continued support of our customers, I am truly blessed to be doing what I do each and every day.” says Sherri Norton, who also sits on the board of Plainview’s Chamber of Commerce.

Sherri Norton and her husband Jeff opened a new custom apparel and promotional product company, SubZero, back in early 2010. She loved every aspect of being back into her hometown and seeing small businesses grow together.

SubZero was located right next to the local furniture and floral shop, Uptown Interiors, that has been locally owned and operated for years. With the vision of owning her own ’boutique’ someday ‘soon’ became a reality.

Sherri was presented the opportunity to move SubZero into the furniture and floral’s space next door. Along with that move, the current owners of Uptown Interiors were ready to move onto the next chapter in their life. The day presented itself for Sherri and her husband Jeff to make a big decision. In winter of 2011, Jeff and Sherri took over ownership of the furniture and floral business (Uptown Interiors) while continuing their already successful apparel business, SubZero, all under one roof.

Now the owner of one small business, turned into owning three separate businesses within a short period of time. Jeff and Sherri’s vision and ambition provided them the energy to continue the growth of all businesses in their hometown community.
Today, Sherri and Jeff employee 3 staff members within Uptown Furniture and Floral. They offer their clients a solution to their home, gift, and occasion needs with the multiple departments all under one roof. When you stop into our large showroom located downtown, you will get the sense of a ’boutique’ right away with the unique seasonal home décor gifts and accessories, personalized apparel, quality furniture and accents pieces, and of course the beautifully designed silk and fresh floral arrangements.

With the home decorating industry trending towards a greener feel, Uptown changed its name to The Magnolia Cottage to
better represent it fresh floral and vintage store theme.

We look forward to serving you in the future and can not thank you enough for your business.
